Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. She has been praised for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with many awards for her performance and has even won an Oscar. The path to acting began on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. From her early years, she has been passionate in the field of acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. Following a bout of mumps, she went blind on the other side the ear. This did not stop her ambition to pursue a career as an actress. As a young woman she was a drama student in the college level and then moved into New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. Hunter was stuck in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After that, she made the move from New York to Los Angeles and tried to get movie roles. In Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. Over the past three decades, since her time in Los Angeles, Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous series and television films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
