Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is a famous American actress and producer. She has gained recognition for her stellar performances in films including Broadcast News The Firm The Piano, and The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the film Piano. The accomplished actress started her career as an actor on the stage through a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Since her childhood she's been passionate in the field of acting. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. Her mumps left her deaf and blind in one ear. But she did not allow this to stop her from becoming an actor. When she was in college studying drama, she moved to New York City with her ambitions in mind. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in a lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress supporting the lead character of Swing Shift. In the years since, she has been in many shows and TV films over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and she has won Women in Film Lucy Award.
